So you want to learn how to fly? S.O.A.R Symposium

So, you want to fly through life?  Well, how about not just flying, but soaring.

What if you had an encounter that stopped you in your tracks early in life and redirected the possibilities?  What if someone had taught you to S.O.A.R?

That's what Virginia Beach Public Schools has committed investing in future generations.  On August 11, the Virginia Beach community gathered students from all Virginia Beach Public Schools for S.O.A.R. - the Scenarios, Options, Actions and Results Symposium.

Virginia Beach Police Dept. officials and former NFL player Keith Burnell opened the ceremony and Rolfe Carawan closed it, bringing the students a solid, relevant message that inspired them to decide now that they can and must S.O.A.R.

“What a special evening we had with you last night!  Though it was cold and rainy outside, there was a warmth in the room as a result of your presentation, as evidenced by the atypical lingering of the crowd as they talked with you...You left me with some personal challenges I need to address in my own life. I am sure others felt similarly.”

“Rolfe’s session on Generation X employees was one of the most revealing sessions I have ever been a part of.  I felt like he defined me without even knowing who I was. My boss was in the session with me and we both came away with a better understanding...”
